About Gil's Automotive Services

When Gil Leonard looked at his grandfather's deteriorating dairy barn on Parks Mill Road, most people would have seen a teardown. Gil saw something different. He saw potential. In January of 2005, Gil rolled up his sleeves and began converting that old barn into something entirely new: a proper automotive repair shop, built to serve the Lake Oconee community with the kind of care and attention that had become increasingly hard to find.

Those early days were lean. Gil opened the doors with two bays, a handful of tools, and a single-minded determination to earn every customer's trust. He was the mechanic, the front desk, the janitor, and the bookkeeper all at once. Word spread quickly through Buckhead, Eatonton, Madison, and Greensboro that there was a new shop in town where you got a straight answer and fair price every time.

Today, that two-bay barn has grown into a five-bay, full-service repair facility staffed by four skilled mechanics with more than eighty years of combined experience. The building looks nothing like the dairy barn it once was, but the foundation Gil laid in those first days remains exactly the same: treat every customer like a neighbor, stand behind every repair, and never cut corners.
